Purpose of Award
The purpose of the award is to:-
- Recognize achievements in the area of e-Governance
- Disseminate knowledge on effective methods of designing and implementing sustainable e-Governance initiatives
- Encourage incremental innovations in successful e-Governance solutions
- Promote and exchange experiences in solving problems, Mitigating risks, resolving issues and planning for success.
National Awards for e-Governance
To recognize and promote excellence in implementation of e-Governance initiatives, DAR&PG presents National Awards every year. The Awards are presented generally during an event of two-days, viz. the National Conference on e-Governance. These Awards are being given since 2003.
All Central Ministries/Departments, State/UT Governments, Districts, Local Bodies, Central & State Government Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Academic/Research Institutions (Government and Non –Government) are eligible to apply for these awards.
This year, the categories under the Award Scheme of the National Awards for e-Governance 2020-21 have been revised. The 6 award categories are :
1. Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering for Digital Transformation
- Central level initiatives
- State/UT level initiatives
- District level initiatives
2. Universalizing Access including e-Services
- Central level initiatives
- State/UT level initiatives
- District level initiatives
3. Excellence in District level initiative in e-Governance
- North-East States + Hilly States;
- UTs (including Delhi);
- Other States
4. Outstanding research on Citizen Centric Services by Academic/Research Institutions
5. Excellence in adopting emerging technologies
6. Use of ICT in the Management of COVID 19
- Central level initiatives
- State/UT level initiatives
- District level initiatives
